Criminal and Terror Symbiosis, Your Town and Mine

In “Are We Rome”, Cullen Murphy observes, “Governments begin to fall when they lose sight of all that going on under their watch”…and ..”Bureaucracy is the new geography”. Talk about canonizing the obvious. I might expand it a bit more suggesting communities have already fallen when its members lull themselves into civic indifference.

Over the past summer there was a fast flash of news that faded as the heat of the day dried up the clouds. It had little to do with a political rock star or a proven patriot, nor would it impact the celebrity ratings of weekly picture-book stars, or even cause a canned simmer by a nightly TV face. Pseudo-sophisticated Americans were not even told by their entertainment cadres that it should even be newsworthy. Evidently, after thirty-plus years of watching terrorist warfare against this country enhance itself through government indifference, diversity programs, porous borders and the general acceptance of lawlessness, and fearful of our own laws and enforcement of privileges by condemning litigation, someone, somehow, thought it might be prudent to fingerprint those apprehended in our campaign for sovereign legitimacy (quite a term - bear it in mind). The process yielded some rather interesting results.
Paul Shannon, FBI, Supervisory Agent stated, "It's, still, though, is a surprise when you fingerprint somebody in the shadow of Tora Bora that you find out that that person has a misdemeanor arrest in Phoenix and some other city in the United States." (It seems that SA Shannon was being rather modest; there were charges of violence, armed robbery up and down the ratings from fraudulent drivers’ licenses, to drunk and disorderly (tsk, tsk haram) and illegal entry into the United States, not to mention the fraudulent marriages and citizenship. More than a few bench-warrants must be turning yellow.
Now we could exult and say, “Go Team!” The fans should be a’roaring. What a play; a trifecta; “Te Deum“,” The Credo” and a “Hail Mary“. Hate to do this folks, but I’ve just flagged the play.
First of all. Who are these guys? How did they get here? How did they get to Tora Bora, Mogadishu, Basra, and Algiers from Main Street or Side Street, USA? How does an Ikhwan warrior scope out a mark, line up his bail, slip out of the country; and possibly with a Katzenjammer (hangover) from industrial processing of booze.
Well, of course, we have sanctuary cities; San Francisco, Cambridge, New York, New Haven, Denver, Seattle, Minneapolis to name but a few. Hell, The San Francisco Out-Tourist will spring an accused out of the country. (Of course, sometimes there’s a distraction from their programs, such as when a thug guns down three people with an AK47 in daylight.) Chances are these cities’ (wherever located) hospitals ER’s handle everything from shrapnel to preventive abortions on your dime (What municipality doesn’t rely on the federal dollar?)
If, as so many other Americans say, our image has fallen in this world, we can point to the farce that we have made of our own laws and the compromise in ethics that once motivated them.
So how does that anonymous cop on the beat react to all this? Chances are you have witnessed am officer bring challenged in court, when trying to make declarative statements, get’s morphed into having a prejudice for a type of person or was determined to be profiling (any category will do). Today, that officer stands before a court that would rather decide for peace and quiet than law and order. A lot of players join in as well; clergy, public defenders, various advocacy elements and officers from the consulates of an assused. Maybe other groups; CAIR, La Raza, Tongs, will join the issue as friends of the court. As a pedestrian these days, in these matters I watch this issue get a passing nod on a news broadcast as though to say…An that’s that.
But I’d like to know where these men violated laws; Hennepin Ave. in Minneapolis? Mission Hill, Boston, K Street in Washington? I’d like to believe that not only the original officers review their cases, but I’d like to believe that detectives are scoping out the places they lived. People from foreign lands tend toward communities that are identified as well-disposed to the refugee or landsman; legal or illegal. Considering the rate of arrest is barely 10-20% of attempted crimes, these thugs most likely had kindred support - maybe even accomplices. If one from a community has raised bucks to get to Kabul, then let’s consider those with whom he, at least came tangent. Maybe he was found in Kabul or Mogadishu after fleeing one crime that was part of, or would have a become a greater one with time. We should safely, and cautiously, suppose that, and, as well, he would not have been acting alone. Let’s think in terms of collateral intelligence; that item or two that lead to a whole.
I cite this issue, and I wish to believe it will be corrected post haste with downright due diligence. Were they to target a dam, a utility, a bridge, food processing plant with toxins? Or just maybe (which I see anyway) their goals were to bring our legal process comedy to a world stage?
Perhaps, a look at the case of Aalifa Sidiqui; Just a prudent little Muslim girl from Pakistan who carried her books to school in one arm and proselytizing material for people she would hope to convert to the Ikhwan to subvert the United States; reducing it to the greater Islamic Caliphate.
Recent reports tell us that she was arrested in Afghanistan, reportedly after grabbing an interrogator’s weapon and nearly killing him and others. Having been on the inquiries lists since 9/11/01, her role in the Islamic apparatus to infiltrate and subdue this country qualified her for the plot.

Let’s remember that criminal minds and terrorists hearts have been proven to thrive on permutations of symbioses.

Here, I’ll jump from the would-be thuggorists whom Americana would apply wishcraft to just disappear. But, when we see laws being abused, and indifference or appeasement being the reason, we have to look around the weeds that have infected our own green grass. What the banning of DDT has done for the propagation of disease carrying mosquitoes; exaggerated antidiscrimination measures have done to the federal, state and local governments. I am reminded of the soul of the average American (Charlie Brown) believing in his laws and his ever-contrarian nemesis (Lucy holding the football)who, for meanness alone, thwarts his faith.
If I, as citizen, were to ask who allowed this to happen I’m afraid I would find the answer in a mirror. For I’ve been here all this time. I voted in elections, city, state and national that granted others stewardships. I never thought they’d hand the trust over to other influences. Evidently it matters little to party or philosophical alignments, even the most conservative of us have to realize that our votes have ended up in the brokerages of facilitators whose aims and goals are different from our own. So, I guess, when white-collar crime jaunts down our streets adorned in cultural piety we should just get out of the way. Hell it’s just the transition of the furtive and predatory going 7/11.

White Collar Crime - White Thawb Subversion

Over a few years a Mission Hill, Boston, Neighborhood Activist, entered into the legal lists jousting with the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) (mentioned in a prior screed of mine) and The Islamic Society of Boston (ISB). The man had for years been a vocal critic of many things affecting that in which he took pride, his neighborhood. But in recent years he unrolled a carpet within which was more than a matter of parochial concern. As this matter has been treated by investigators and commentators in terms more professional than my own I’ll just respect them by listing their findings as follows:

Richard Pipes is among, and has worked with, the country’s most reputable investigators of the Islamic subversion in the United States and the West:
http://www.danielpipes.org/blog/2003/10/the-islamic-society-of-boston-the.html
Picking up on the local workings of this matter are “Miss Kelley”
http://misskelly.typepad.com/miss_kelly_/2007/05/bras_muhammad_a.html And Martin Solomon
http://www.solomonia.com/blog/who.shtml

Their accounts are thorough, pervasive, candid and free of that alienating jingoism that often finds air in these matters. I would be foolish to even try to add to their findings. What is interesting in all this, however, are the employment of illegal and official apparati to accomplish outright banditry, and eased encroachment by an alien influence whose goal is to gather the United States into the Islamic Ummah under Sharia Law; the stated objective of the Muslim Brotherhood. The relationship with the Moslem Society of America, and a founder of ISB, Abdurahman Alamoudi, who is serving over twenty years for terror financing, and fundraising for soon to deported other associates is quite enlightening, as well as willful blindness by officials create quite a scenario in their tale. On the convicted Alamoudi, within the years since 2001 and prior to his sentencing, the Center was still picking up his travel costs. But one of ISB’s lawyers deny his participation in over twenty years. ? Just ?
Going over the various items that have fallen into this case in Boston:
I wonder how an employee of the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) has been allowed to rig a parcel of property to an institution of which he holds membership and has fundraised in the various Arab states, emirates, principalities and kingdoms (on the BRA ticket). (Just previous to this article I cited the BRA employment practices of barratry, civic indifference, etc. Maybe it’s better than a sanctuary city, it provides six-figure jobs to aliens.)
Why, when such a suggestion of white-collar crime is in such focus, would the Boston FBI office honor a shill in one of the most egregious frauds in Boston. (Well, the same Boston FBI office was infiltrated by the mob when it was supposed to be doing the reverse. A headlined agent is already in jail for one matter, and heading to Florida for a murder trial. Says a lot, doesn’t it.)
And the BRA Executive Director is only recently retiring. He seems to be conveniently not witting to the fact - Muslim Law - that they execute homosexuals. (Well, Boston is said to be run by the "Best Men Can Buy". )
With all this commotion, no one’s showing any residual concern. The state ethics commission can’t act on it because they don’t know how to. The Mayor’s Office can’t seem to get excited because the BRA clients are quite a source of campaign revenue. (Not to mention a lack of depth in the city’s MENSA department.) And, above all (literally), the BRA is not responsible to the City of Boston in the least. Authorities are autonomous entities that are granted extra-legal authority. In this case, their brief being redevelopment, (value enhancement), they are doing neither. Providing a religious-cultural-political entity tax-free property enhancement offers the City nothing. A few questions were asked of the Mayor’s Office. His spokesperson knowing it would be a dead-end said it was referred to the BRA. They don’t answer to the Mayor’s Office, and just don’t.
I wonder why the idea of renaming streets (you know, for that Mussel-man who fought with the Minutemen who….?), accommodations for class-rooms, religious ritual baths; projected housing could not be seen as preparation for more than the need if the immediate - contemporary - community. (If at an “open house” on August 30Th , only thirty people to include one state representative and one city councilor attended, I challenge the dynamic of the relevant community.) I guess that community is en route. The luggage carousel at the Frankfurt am Main Airport must be backed up.
It seems, as well, rather peculiar that such an edifice would be located in the greatest concentrations of African Americans, with descendants who claim forebears from the “Underground Railroad”, and have exercised great leadership in the City. The Arab - Islamic - slave dealers delivered them to Western hands - (which, by the way, only 5% of the total slave traffic in the 17th, 18th and 19th Centuries went to what is now the United States. 8%-12% went to South America and the Caribbean. The rest went eastward to the Arab lands and further eastward to the Asian lands. (Imagine a park with flowers in the pattern of the Confederate flag, maybe named for William Clarke Quantrill.)
It seems, to me, rather peculiar that nobody questions the point that funds for further construction and the prevailing stipulations originate in lands where slavery is still recognized (not just tolerated, either, because there are regulations in place - acknowledging the fact).
It seem peculiar, in the terms of Jessica Masse, on behalf of the ISB, that “traditional funding (by which I sense she means traditional American lending practices) has not been an option”, as it is with us (infidels, and our churches and synagogues, veterans‘ posts, alumni clubs) who are held to mortgage and banking laws. Wrong, Jessica. You’re choosing, rather dictating, a practice alien to US law. Worse. Someone’s allowing it.
Since when does the Islamic Development Bank, a solely owned and regulated bank of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Bank of Kuwait (in states who regulate, but don’t deny slavery practices) have greater sovereignty than our own parochial, provincial or national banking practices - laws? Try introducing Istituto per le Opere di Religione , the Vatican Bank, free of agency, letters of credit or bonding into the scene.
As I indicated, there has been no great determination of need for this slave-state sponsored edifice - as yet. So we must think of the ISB Center as a center that would minister to population not yet here. And if anyone recalls the case of Saudi travel agents that issued visas, you’re eyes might smart if you noticed in the finding cited that this deal was signed and certified in a US Consulate office in Kuwait. What a US State Department official understands about an individual municipality’s zoning laws and need are is pushing the diplomatic envelope a bit too far.
In the BRA documentation that was written for the ISB - by one of its own members, and yet a BRA projects director, suggests certain ritual licenses that are generally governed by state laws and municipal zoning.
Do you think an O’Leary, Palladino, Kowalski, or Klein will make the grade for a Bank of Kuwait mortgage without religious conversion and acknowledgement of , and signing under Sharia Law with it’s standards, because as Jessica Masse stated, “traditional funding (by which I sense she means “American” lending) has not been an option”? No. Do you think they’ll be bound to have infidel realty boards, housing officials, zoning boards rattling around? No. Don’t even think about anti-discrimination or fair housing laws.
Now comes the complex part: Watch for precedents
After all the “to do” over the various examples of appeasement, barratry, official duplicity and corrupt practices, a law suit has been dropped by the ISB for what they consider their being victimized by publicity and applicable (usually) laws.
That has not addressed any of the issues that have been cited, however.
So now, we must address how that acquiescence can lead to a surrender of sovereignty, not only here in Boston, “The Athens of Attitude”, but across the country as we understand how precedents can lead to substantial erosion of your citizen franchise. An easement here, a zoning there, an agreement in your town, a permit in mine; pretty soon raising a compendium of “How to do Sharia” will published. And soon just showing that flag…“and the Nation for which it stands.” will be prohibited as a violation of “community cohesiveness” as a young man in Luton, UK, discovered when he flew his Union Jack.
And here, I’ll clearly state my concern developed over more than a few years. The current Islamic movement has a goal of neutralizing and destroying everything that has won merit in Judeo-Christian/Western Civilization. And though we cite frequent application of violence, we must be alert to the element of subversion. Subversion is an element of war.
We can look back over our history and find great and virtuous efforts meet successful ends in terms of race, age, women’s suffrage, handicapped, immigration, health care, youth and sexual preference. It has been an exciting series as a free society develops. Sometimes we have seen examples that have been cited as precedents in otherwise not related cases. Relativism has played a major role in not only American (I’ll suggest Western) laws, but standards as well. (But hammers can break a window with the same ease as tacking a nail.) Islamic extremist elements has been observing, studying and is using many of the same tactics that have won virtuous ends. One, which many guffaw at, is the victim leadership ploy. The greater the alienation, the more pitiful the victim - apart from the alienation being the self-determined. Think of inverted provocation. “Leave me alone!” Followed by “You’re discriminating against me.” And the country enables and appeases these tactical mood swings like trapeze artists.
Little measures here and there add up to sweeping precedents and put together or not neutralized at the first instance, become as valid as rock. (Think about a bad laws. They get layered over with exceptions but rarely are they excised.) Watch for the precedents in communities, schools, employment, and housing. (Significant examples in schools being misused can be found in New York, Virginia, Minnesota, Michigan. And they range from general standards that states require, to voucher fraud, to curriculum schedules to school property usage. Law enforcement on city, state and federal levels have been penetrated and litigation, that great American sport, is scrimmaging around the clock.
An example of a community defeating a nation, I add an item from “timesonline” . Basically, when the laws of a nation are neutralized what is left? So, when even the municipal statues by which you and I, and our neighbors, in Boston, San Jose, Charleston or Memphis are neutralized what have we?
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article4749183.ece
And it’s all happening within a stone’s throw from where you and I live. Brick by brick, head by head, we are facing a force of ‘unmodern men in a modern world’ using the most advance means to accomplish an unreasonable accommodation.

Your tax, Your vote, Your Sovereignty

One challenge that I have never had to meet is proving to citizens of my own country that I have full franchise in everything it does. Sure, I know the anxiety of making a grade, a team; even engaging in an election. But to engage myself in a new citizenship, abandoning one of my birth, in a country with guaranteed freedoms, and with it the immediate values and a chance to share responsibilities with my new fellow citizens is beyond any experience I've had.

It is only with the election season upon us, that issues of voting, voter fraud and indifference to appropriate identification that we hear of newer scrutinies of the electorate. Particularly, the environment of the electorate needs serious attention. I'll only suggest here that one might enter "voter fraud" into "Google" maybe set up alerts for a few days and witness what comes down. It's a universal and bipartisan issue, and though I'll cite one element of civic distortion, I'm sure the idea is in ferment in other parts of the country as well.
Over a few weeks I've come across a couple of articles by one Mark Puleo who writes for "Metro", one of those free print rags that pop up in cities with over-priced, fading newspapers. Mr. Puleo has presented two very well written articles with which I couldn't agree. One is the idea of giving green-card holders the right to vote, and the other is granting non-citizen voting rights for the sake of local elections; cities, townships, school boards and the like. (I'll list these article below.) http://www.metrobostonnews.com/us/article/2008/05/22/03/4553-66/index.xml and http://www.ethnicnewz.org/en/giving-green-card-holders-right-vote-makes-sense
As you may gather Mr. Puleo is rather free with your franchise as citizens and would even suggest that you just give away your vote or dilute it in a the gush of compromise. Depending on how many non-citizens may reside in the vote zone, a citizen could find that all he or she held in civic terms was gone. Let's just for a moment take a school system; the selection of disciplines, the imposition of language requirements, or as we have seen in some communities throughout the country, Dearborn, Michigan, and Fairfax County, Virginia, and Charlotte, North Carolina, to name a few, where cultural imposition has given way to a belief system (religious focus) that is totally alien from American principles. Let's not pretend we don't see this. Better yet, let's not lie to ourselves. Let's not let anyone else lie to us either.
Now as cute and folksy as Mr. Puleo would have us see this, these people would be given a say in your tax spending. Writing, with a heart toward infantilizing these faux-citizens, he would say they pay taxes too. But remember, few, very few school systems function without federal funds. And the use of federal funds run up and down the policy execution ladder. So, Mr. Puleo, apart from the idea of one little village inviting the new folk to the process is suggesting they take part in whole. While we're considering this, let's remember jury duty is drawn from the voters lists.
In the effort to show the merit of this civic franchise giveaway, Mr. Puleo has provided what he evidently believes is compelling drama to his case. Well, I consider it an outrage.
He tells us the story of one Alvaro Lima, Director of Research, Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA). (This is the same group that gave away at below market value city land for the New England Islamic Center. And if you think these authorities function with our laws, take a good look. They function by their own laws and above those of the rest of us. {Read Robert Caro, "The Power Broker".}) Mr. Lima came to this country on a student visa twenty (20) years ago. "..high powered officials in Boston depend on his advice and statistical analysis to shape the city's future.." As I suggested, authorities function above the laws of the rest of us. We are to believe that this urban linchpin who "Diligently jumping through hoops to become a permanent resident (note that is not citizen), whose naturalization process drags on, is the only candidate in twenty (20) years found to be capable to conduct urban research. And we are to feel bad that "he cannot decide how his own property taxes are spent." So, Mr. Puleo would have us lament the injustice that Mr. Lima, employed by a premier hackerama, and has evidently purchased property in these twenty (20) years, hasn't had time to take basic citizenship classes. He can be part of a organization that parcels out tax-free property to a religiously oriented group. He certainly has the opportunity to know what economic impact is on the citizens of Boston, but in twenty (20) years too busy to become one. I guess, like the Islamic clients of the BRA, he wants it all below market.
Of course, by this time we might just guess that Mr. Puleo is either a self-impressed liberal or a well-penned mercenary. He plucks further at the heart-strings suggesting that we consider the feelings of the 35,000 green-card-holding soldiers in Iraq feel about not having a vote. Well, Mr. Puleo, they do have green-cards. And that makes me feel good. And, Mr. Puleo, why don't you ask why US military votes are often not counted at all. Oh, I almost forgot, you'd dilute their franchise anyway. Or should we be more self-scrutinous and just consider voting a job Americans don't want to do anymore. I'll avoid raising the issue of absentee voting in Mr. Puleo's contrivance. I'll not even venture how each vote should fit into census records. (I guess liar's poker and the census are really for amusement anyway.) And, Oh Lordy! I'll leave the legal status or the issue of illegal immigration to common interpreters. Just mention "illegal immigration" and the speaker is painted head to toe as "anti-immigrant".
To add irony to this part of my story, I was taking the "T" to the State House just last week, 2 to 4 weeks after Mr. Puleo's lament. The same publication was on my seat. Front page story was "Big Papi sworn in as US citizen", "David Otiz, the pride of the Red Sox nation became a US citizen yesterday (6/12/08) with 220 other immigrants from 57 countries."
Somehow the 32 year-old new citizen managed to fit the process into his training schedule and games away. I bet he'll vote too.
As I mentioned the issue of voter-fraud, I'll also draw caution to the Supreme Courts decision to allow Indiana to ask for an ID when conducting elections. Let's remember, that was based upon the law that Indiana enacted and only states who enact like laws will be so governed. So organizations like ACORN, CAIR, VIP (an operation run by the Muslim American Society), and various local undertakers can still get into the racket.
After that decision I noticed Donna Brazile, Democratic National Committee bassa profunda, expressed concerned about the expense for the poor and the difficulties for the handicapped and the elderly. Well, Donna, Dear, if you know about them; get them ID'd and scam an absentee vote as usual.

By whose laws?

On occasions when I'd be a guest on a TV show regarding intelligence matters or even as a guest speaker as something like celebity spy, I would frequently be asked why we, America, didn't have better information about a certain country and its regime, or a movement and its participants. It's as though the inquirer believed we just routinely dressed someone in a trench-coat, sent a camera up in the sky or put on head-phones and listened in on the most strategic planning of state leaders or conspirators, and all knowledge necessary would find itself into the hands of our country's decision makers. It was not without appreciation that I would hear this; after all I watch the same TV, read novels and hear gossip, albeit with the experience, on some occasions, with knowing some of the back-story.
With appreciation for public frustration and anticipation, this would lead to a bit of divergence while I explained that most regimes hostile to the United States, perhaps at the time of the Cold War and even during the years since, maintained the counter-intelligence state. In addition I would add that even some allies maintained exceptional controls beyond the diplomatic exchange level. (Let me not slide by the duty of each government’s duty to maintain its security.) My exceptional controls within what I refer to in counter-intelligence states, I would like you to understand, are those beyond what the most minimal of democracies manifest. Take if you would, the Saudi Arabia's, Pakistan's, Peru's, to cite but a few (a very few out of many). My divergence, I hoped, would lead an audience to think about what common ideals we enjoy from day-to-day only because we are who we are, with a long history, sometimes arduous, of debates to guarantee the ideals and freedom that we enjoy and find little need to question. We find them in our "Bill of Rights", amendments to the Constitution and seriously deliberated openly in our courts. Mirroring backward can be a great means of understanding. I never felt satisfied that the complete mood of the counter-intelligence state really effected an identifieable image or atmosphere that I wanted to impose on the listeneres.

Actually, recalling such engagements seems to have been what I've been looking for to engage the topic of this writing.

Following the attacks of September 11th, 2001, and the national trauma it engendered, the country was awakened to it vulnerability (ies). Voices of congressman and TV hosts went hoarse screeching, trying to overcome the natural sobs and cries of the citizenry, Joe and Sally You'nme. Scribes dipped their quills in venom and proclaimed just outrage. Once the mourning quelled the anxiety the blame games began. Publishers were frantically delivering pulp by theorist, apologists, seers, blamers and grand scheme architects. Tomes were being presented in the names of intelligence wizards, cultural experts and retired military, naval and diplomatic personalities. The opinions were as varied as their various experiences. After all, why shouldn't they?
In a recent article by (1) James Califano, "Security Gone Wild" and articles by (2) Walid Phares, “The Cells Are Already Here and..”, (3) Steve Emerson, whose books were prescient to the current crisis (es), (4) Douglas Farah “The Long Decline of Counter-Intelligence Capability”, (5) Jeffrey Imm, “Report: Muslim Brotherhood US Front Groups”, and (6) Bill West’s article, “Hizballah Moles Reflects the Depth of Threat” and (7) “Terrorists, Traitors and Citizenship,” to name a few, we come closer to visualizing the developing threat within the United States. As I suggested, to name but a few.

Citing the above is fine as Americans will do their wont and only consider the matter in the abstract and too much of a reach to grasp. It easier that way, won’t interfere with plans for the Super Bowl, Soccer practice, and Home Depot.

By this time of 2008, even the most provincial of Americans have read that those lands of flowered parks, wooden shoes, great cheeses, and courteous ‘bobbies’ have been in the choking throes of strangulation by age old traditions of good will. (Allow me here to introduce a site by Lionheart, http://lionheartuk.blogspot.com/2008/02/video-islam-what-west-needs-to-know.html. Though I’ve chosen one entry, it is worth expanding upon. Consider Paul an Alfred in 2006. Look at the various takeovers in his country by cultural guests, squatters and refugees and their progeny. Work out the permutations throughout each country in Europe and (let me risk it here) the Western World.

We might say, (Well, some people we know, might say), that’s Europe. Remember, family spats, the odd relative here and there, fortunes up and fortunes down, we’ve never divorced ourselves historically or culturally from Europe. (Oh? You differ? Well, go ahead. Just spare me the moral equivocation. I’ll go on.) And if you think that the Counter-Enlighted, “Unmodern Men” (thanks Michael Mazar, I just borrowed your term), element that has purged only European countries and the UK of their dignity, don’t get comfy.

In a few examples let me introduce you to Gary Fouse http://garyfouse.blogspot.com/ . Gary’s experience is only one where American education has been slaughtered by our own misinterpreted principles (by the very custodian of those principles). Let me, as well, introduce you to Daniel Pipes who has chased down infiltration in the United States at http://www.danielpipes.org/. A guy who has stepped out front leading the cultural defense is Roger at http://radarsite.blogspot.com/. I could run us all crazy trying to cite so many who have focused on a primary element of an enemy committed to dominate and attack for the purpose of domination. Let me recommend you visit the sites of people I find reasonably grounded in the current crisis. I'd like to mention Jerry Gordon who consolidates some good points at http://www.newenglishreview.org/custpage.cfm/frm/19463/sec_id/19463

Infiltration, penetration, subversion, pacification, provocation, and outright attack are the elements of warfare already thriving as the weapons of the Ikwan or Islamic vanguard whose goal is the subjugation of United States and those of our associates.
What does it take to subjugate a whole community? A few Islamicists and the Laws of the United States practiced by attorneys of the Council of American-Islamic Relations. First they’re being discriminated against. Then by status of having settled in, they’ll discriminate against you. (As many of you as they can cite in writs.)
What does it take to subjugate a whole school system? State and city governments of Minnesota, California, Ohio, New York, Michigan (with its financial center of Dearbornistan) and Massachusetts. Think of a better venue to reduce a culture. (Consider pre-game prayers being directed to the East, full-skin-covered basketball and soccer uniforms, night-gown length 'Speedoes', team names like 'Ikwan' replacing 'Volunteers'.) (If you're about to start into a moral equivalency argument citing history of the Native Americans, go back to your casino, try to win your wampum. That's not today's topic.)
What does it take to flaunt the law, violate basic rights of religious freedom, the press, dress and, Oh yes murder? Just a tanker’s load of Saudi crude money, a verbally limited diplomatic corps, a few PC (philosophically constipated) judges, and a leader who can say with emotional piety that a blood ritual of over three-thousand people is a mere rubric of a “religion of peace”.

Let’s see if I can explain why I used terms, “exceptional controls within what I refer to in counter-intelligence states”. Actually, let me make it easy for you we don’t have any. Who is ready to take on the local, state and national government for allowing people with either mercenary or anti-American intentions to hold power in the United States? Does any contemporary American see a problem when a public school system subsidizes a school run by religio-cultural-political zealots? (These are not faith-based initiatives for the public good.) How many contemporary Americans are savvy enough to note and report possible sedition and subversion? In countries with “exceptional controls within what I refer to in counter-intelligence states”, a citizen is required to. You and I aren’t required to. Actually, unless you want to be sued by elements dripping in Saudi money and have an organization such as CAIR married to the American Legal Establishment; attorneys, clerks, judges and all, and be seen as absolute nuisance by municipal officers, don’t bother.
We are not a counter-intelligence state. We abhor exceptional controls. But, in finessing our legal system and the easements thus far superimposed upon it, those who would make us a counter-intelligence state are already implementing those tactics here and use exceptional controls provided by our own legal system. Our freedoms have become thier weapons.
We must remember that the other side is not a rational actor, and theoretical paradigms of behavior are thus non-binding. Proportionality bias of seeming importance is variable, and we must also avoid the presumption that behavior and description of individuals of the other side is uniform. Assumptions of priorities as well as the process of decision- making vary as well. The most important thing to remember is all rules have been suspended.

Criminally, Treasonous, Contemptible Absurdity

Chances are there are enough Americans, who reading that a two-bit punk rolled a stolen car and got killed was thought to be turning his life around , might even wished he had. Even in the darkest corner of the most cynical hearts there's always an ember of hope.
But what are we to think of a case when someone, having fraudulently gained citizenship gets a slap on the wrist. What are we to think of a case where someone, a fundraiser for Hezbollah, has enough juice to be able to insert an asset into a leveraged position in that domain of the US government that deals with crime and militant terrorism. What kind of leverage does a person need to do that. http://www.newenglishreview.org/custpage.cfm/frm/19463/sec_id/19463
(Sure, just one case, I know. But it's fire, not dry ice. Sure, just another case..."no mai yob". Sure, just another blade closer to your throat.)
We won't hear this at our mass wakes, but believe me; people will be asking how it happened.)

That young corpse might have made it through probation's and paroles, maybe, just maybe, he could have a life of meaning for someone else.

But Nada Nadine Prouty nee: Al Aour, from a family bloodline in bloodletting managed to become employed by the FBI and the CIA.
Not until her brother-in-law Talal Chahine was indicted for money-laundering did anyone even raise an eye-brow. Maybe it was the adherence to her religion of peace that mollified the various personnel offices.
In a few short words of Debbie Schlossel, http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives/2008/05/outrage_hezboll_1.html
"Prouty engaged in a sham marriage to gain U.S. citizenship--that's immigration fraud, then infiltrated the FBI and CIA (getting top security clearance), improperly accessed federal investigations and disclosed the information to a Hezbo agent--her former bro-in-law, Chahine, and she gets a $750 fine?!"

THINK: Someone facilitated this.

The local Detroit rags only printed:

"A former Detroit-area woman who engaged in a sham marriage to obtain U.S. citizenship and obtained key jobs in the CIA and FBI was fined $750 but given no jail time today by a federal judge.
U.S. District Judge Avern Cohn blasted media coverage of Nada Prouty̢۪s indictment, which he said was fueled by government news releases, and said it distorted the circumstances behind the charges against Prouty. Cohn said Prouty, who lives in suburban Washington, served the United States with distinction in Iraq and elsewhere, at times placing herself in peril on behalf of her adopted country
."
Her brother-in-law, real stand-up gent that he is, managed to escape the country because she "served (him read: Hezbollah) with distinction".
The same Judge Cohn only charged her sister $500.
"She has lost her citizenship and employment, her financial resources have been depleted, and the U.S. Marine Corps has lost the services of a first-rate officer," Cohn said of Spinelli formerly Samar Al-Aouar, the defendant's sister.
I wonder if they used their citizenship to vote. It is reported that brother-in-law Chahine invested in and was quite a smoozer with Michigan politicoes.
This case hardly nudges the crisis meter compared to the number of such insidious practices going on. Think of Pentagon Pro's being side-lined for being too thorougholy knowledgeable in Islamic affairs. In one of these cases a replacement was CAIR Endorsed. These are crimes being committed against me. (I'll personalize this as I don't think there's a soul in reach that believes it can be redressed; or cares.)

THINK: Someone facilitates this.

Until 1974 there existed what was The Attorney General's List ordered by President Truman Executive Order 9835 which was an instrument of what had been called the Second Red Scare. It might rekindle today's grandparents memories of McCarthy, The House Un-American Activities Committee, Hollywood Ten, etc. It has born out since the early Nineties and the publication of the Venona Papers, that there did exist efforts to overthrow the government of the United States. But since 1974, and even more currently, talk about such things is to be seen as boorish and hardly sophisticated.
But of those who witnessed the "Cold War" measures there were grandparent who remembered the " First Red Scare when there was a Wall Street bombing on September 16, 1920, 100 pounds (45 kg) of dynamite with 500 pounds (230 kg) of fragmented steel exploded in front of the offices of the J. P. Morgan Company, killing 38 people and injuring 400 others and incendiary devices were sent to the most prominent people in government. Luigi Galleani and a crowd of anarchists delivered havoc. The Palmer raids becdame famous then. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Red_Scare.
At the time the government actions seemed extreme enough in spite of perhaps plus or minus 100 souls all-told being dispatched.
With over 3000 fellow citizens lost to us in a single morning recently, not to mention another 78 here, 243 there, we only concern ourselves with being polite about it. The Patriot Act might better have been couched in an executive order.
But, Americana*, don't panic. If they do it right this time you'll only have to deal with the radium poisoning. Your Mensa clone grandchildren, reducing in numbers as you will have it, may not even remember you, your principles and that emotive love you are, at least currently, permitted to freely express.
I charge the three political parties; Democrats, Republican, and Federal Employees, and you and I, citizens, for dereliction of duty. There's no mitigating factor: the case is multiple acts of Criminally, Treasonous, Contemptible Absurdity.

Jimmy does a Billy

What will he do next, start selling a brew called "Jimmy Juice"?

NEW YORK CITY — Former President Jimmy Carter is reportedly preparing an unprecedented meeting with the leader of Hamas, an organization that the U.S. government considers one of the leading terrorist threats in the world.

I recall when my brother treated me to a junket to England put on by my gang of former "spooks", and he said in reply to my dearest thanks, "I live vicariously through my little brother".

Well, here's a twist. Jimmy Carter follows in the staggering footsteps of his little brother, Billy. Some may recall the much touted visit that the "First Sibling" made to Muammar Qadafi. That Qadafi had already stung us more than a few times didn't mean anything to 'Americana'. We were only part way into our dumbing down and unaware of how dysfunctional the 'Cardigan Sweater' White House could become.

So, now some thirty years later, we see the greatest executor of retreat since Jubilation T. Cornpone making a pilgrimage to another real time enemy.

OK, Jimmy. Go, you kid.

Now I don't know to what level the former president employs the privilege of The Secret Service, but, if they'restill part of his usual retinue, I don't believe they should be obliged to accompany him on this carpet ride.

Simple. That's it.

MICE Won't Bite Jihadists

So you want better intelligence on the enemy? How do you want to get it?

For years experts, pundits, the neighborhood mouth and, in general, Americana, have been exploiting all they know, think they know or don't know regarding that element of statecraft - intelligence. (Spare me the definitions of the craft, its history, its ethical implications, and other cuteness's; I've heard them all.)

Yet, I'm always drawn to an article about the "Trade" as cited:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/front.htm

No trainee as a special agent in counter-intelligence or an intelligence officer has not heard the code: MICE - The elements employed to induce a person to provide information upon his country, gang or movement are usually gathered in terms of:

Money - Ideology - Compromise - Ego - - MICE

Today, the perceived enemy of our Western Tradition (allowing for all its faults; historical and hysterical) might be more of a challenge than those faced by Joshua, Walsingham, Tallmadge, Pinkerton, Dzerzinksii and Dulles. As a matter to consider, those elements, and combinations of them might work more effectively against us than against the factions that make up the; Jihadists, Islamic Anachists, Muslim Terrorists, Ikwan (take your pick of or add your term).

In the traffic among states, money has always been an incentive. We'll always find someplace to waste it. In philosophical conflicts ideology has been quite effective. Compromise, a most coercive element, engages not only status and vanity and but risks intimacy. Ego, all reasonable men accept, can lead to the unreasonable. And these elements can overlap as well. Permutations and factoring them; all or one, upon a person might be seen as simple as an employment agreement.
Now, let me digress a bit here and ask ourselves what we'd like in an employment agreement; pay, fairness, security and personal appreciation for ourselves in the job we do. These we can take to further extremes; health care, secure retirements, our children's future, goals realized and merit. Employer and employee must have trust that these agreements are understood. So, rapport is essential. (Allow me to re-assert that not all motives of an agent are virtuous.) An employee also expects his employer to be in business tomorrow or next week. How about coming home from a business trip and finding your employer has either gone out of business, or that product line you've racked up in commissions is no longer carried. Frequently enough the American Intelligence Community has yielded to pressures, domestic and foreign. Reliance upon technology (without verification) and internecine political spite have dashed many intelligence programs (think hostile take-overs).
So, here we've had agents-in-place, turned or doubled agents, a few people who can loiter without training (I remember a trainer saying, "Whatever you do, don't loiter. It will take you a generation to learn how to loiter."), who have or will be providing that information, which used to make a decision, will be intelligence. And what have we done in the late 70's and the 90's? Closed shop. "Poof""goes the reputation as a community friendly employer. And the idea that we might have shopped them to our mutual best friends hasn't exactly rubbed their tummies. They could have done that a hundred years ago. But they believed in ..No...We had them believe in us.

While the data being provided may or not be reliable; may or may not be true, if that agent is blown, defects openly or has just had enough and comes over; the goods are perishable. The opposition makes changes. Those are just the variables in the reality of "The Game" (In today's nuance; "Extreme Game").
So much for the sparcely selected items of the scenery.

The question at stake is how do we conduct this activity with people to whom few of the rubrics of the trade apply. In terms of Money, we see it of no concern; well funded educations have gone up in Semtex. In terms of Ideology (theo-centric) their goal - as believers - is death anyway. Compromise might work if we find a jihadist-in-name-only indulging in the kaffir's hedonism. (For that a nuke at Monte Carlo would decimate the major Middle-East royal households and the money they allot our enemies.) And that element of Ego; who can he tell? (Like the Rabbi who get's a hole-in-one on Saturday.)

The nature of this enemy is amorphous. We're not waiting at a Czech border that our 'spitzel' or source will cross. We're not dealing with nation-states. Hoping that competent practitioners have found a channel to navigate, apart from the Cold War mindset that still seems to prevail, in penetrating our current enemies, I found the cited articles seemingly indulgent in frustration.

Europe has aleady been over-run by W-Bombs (Womb Bombs) and they not only saw them coming, were told they were coming, but having religiously embraced anti-religious-secularity, accomodated each metasticizing missle.

Here, in "The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave", we are paralayzed by our own strength. The "Free" are afraid on what the less-free world will think. And the "Brave" (law enforcement, military and intelligence) are tethered by whims of disapproval by people inebriated by denial.

Effective intelligence operations have provided many peaceful solutions by just knowing another's intentions. Sure, Second Oldest Profession and all that. But, at least let's bring it up to date. By the way, 1 800 Abu Tech in Jakarta is not the solution.

While we're waiting, we might try something a bit unusual (and you can keep it Top Secret if you want; no candles, processions, flagellating, etc, and you can do it discretely furtively as written by John Buchan, Rudyard Kipling, Ian Fleming):

Pray like a Devil in Hell - (For Insecure Pedestrians like me)
Reflect - (For the Irreligious)

Intelligence Officers run or control "Agents (Sources)" who are functionaries for the deed. No such thing as an Intelligence Agent of CIA, DIA, etc. The professional is an "Intelligence Officer". Special Agents are personnel with tasks; FBI, DEA, etc. Domestically, Confidential Informants serve as Sources. Media will say an "American Intelligence Agent". (You know that 'reporter' majored in speech and drama.) Now that you know, you are professionally more articulate than Wolf Blitzer, Katie Couric, etc.

Here we go again!

Without fail, this cycle comes around again. Each time I see these situations imposed upon youngsters in schools, I'm drawn to think of how many teachers got their education covered because some soldier was posted to another country actually experiencing an education.

When Eisenhower was leaving office he cautioned the country about the influence of the "military-industrial complex". Who thought in the 50's that industrial education would cause the stagnation of development and the disguise of history that it has?
Maybe some of these pedagogues think that George Washington visited Betsy Ross in civvies so as not to offend her creativeness.
Let's not even distract ourselves from the immediate issue here by calling the motivation of these educators by another dishonest term political correctness. They are prejudicing formative minds by the crafting of intellectual dishonesty.
There will be a time, I believe, that some of today's schoolchildren will face the trauma of double-detoxification. Reality will be a shocking side-affect to the awareness that they had been enabled into fantasy dependence .

As Winnie said:

Few words of mine, which would most likely be more than necessary, should light a more provoking fuse than the two words on Churchill's poster.
Just think a moment, before we gather those few things we think are dear to us and head for the cultural bunkers of moral equivalence and rationale and say, regarding the Islamization of the world, "This too shall pass."
And, how dishonest it would be for this cultural pedestrian not to cite Oriana Fallaci (Force of Reason) and George Weigel (Faith, Reason, and the War against Jihadism). Of course, I always add the "Book of Job" from that obscure text "The Bible" when I have to question myself as to how did I get myself in one mess or another.

They're Listening

Crawling out of my slump and the resultant moratorium of my opinions, I have to credit the following observations as having been energized by either Philip and/or Steve at http://gayconservative.org/ who help keep me politically awake during this political season when we’re nearly bored to death by the monotonous drone of US faults.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,335993,00.html
I hate to have to give this murderer his due, but, believe it or not, I witnessed pre-Khadaffi Libya. It was pure squalor once outside Wheelus AFB or the Petri Palace (though you could clearly make out US tankers in and out of terminals). He brought about change in a coup. He even brought about a change that the deserts of the world had earlier witnessed only when the Jewish agronomists began to irrigate Palestine - all of Palestine - Christian, Arab and Jew.
(BTW - “Aronson’s Maps” might be worth a library visit.)
Damn. My “Honesty Muse” forced that.
But, the world does listen to what’s going on in our political arenas. In the mid-70’s Americana was beating the bongos for “Change” after Vietnam, Watergate, and lines at the pump. They were setting the stage to become Yuppies. (Oh, let me set any reader’s interpretation that I have misspelled America. I use ‘Americana’ (the additional “na” denoting those of the citizenry who echo and act by sound-bite un-encumbered by thought-provocation.) So, with all civic ardor, the country, attired in leisure suits, elected an anal-compulsive all decked out in a cardigan sweater. Change? It was a faster retreat from US integrity than we have ever witnessed (albeit we had Vietnam on our record). Jubilation T. Cornpone would be a tortoise in retreat strategy compared to Jimmy Carter with Elmo Zumwalt and Zbignew Brezisnki.
(The latter a foreign affairs consultant for Barry O’Bama - well after all St. Patrick‘s day is soon upon us).
But after the Iranian invasion of our soil, our embassy, the burning to the ground of our embassy in Pakistan while local authorities observed (Anyone forget that? Look it up.), and criminally usurious government sanctioned interest rates at home, we made a correction. We even neutralized the greatest threat to the “Free World” while we were at it. (Anyone remember the USSR?) You know, it was when Gorbachev was elevated to the status of a Twentieth Century Francis of Assisi or the “Rock Star” status of a current junior Senator from Illinois. There was another guy involved that I heard some Republicans reference recently.
Then the work of a few fatigued the many and Americana wanted to rinse themselves of the sweat of their leaders. Again they wanted to “CHANGE”. Americana choosing to indulge in hubris, chose to party.
When we chose to get back to work again and clean up from the “most ethical administration” (that hedonism ever celebrated) reality fatally smacked us sillier. In the morning, during our hangover from another great change, we had to account for all that was neglected; an unkempt military, an ‘as you’d have it’ or appeasing diplomacy, and a domestic ethical void within our borders, the nation of laws not men (persons) showing indifference to one at the expedient dispatch for the historical integrity of the other.
Now, we hear another call for “Change”. Not sure whether we’re advancing or retreating, there’s something about changing horses in midstream about which I’m a bit squeamish.
Actually, I haven’t heard yet toward what plan we haven’t already tried that Americana wants to change.
Of course the Libyan Colonel is listening. The Imams, the Petro-Princes and pseudo-socialist banana republic generals are listening. They never do better that when Americana echoes the word “Change”.
I’m afraid that the “change” Americana wants is one of self-defeat by a nation embarrassed by what it should instead be proud. How awkwardly we project our principles when we should preserve them for ourselves.

REAL ID?

Without the tragedy caused by an illegally present person driving a school bus in a manner that caused the deaths of children, the local scene in Massachusetts will not go undone. http://www.boston.com/news/local/articles/2008/03/01/a_suspect_by_many_other_names_waits_in_jail/

At a time of national peril several states have refused to comply with the REAL ID process; it must be chic. With avowed enemies trying to cross our borders for the purpose of murder there are still those who elect blindness to the threat and, feel that you'd be better off if you were free of the anxiety of being threatened; one big bang you won't even hear. Having discovered that the fraudulent identity game is high sport, there seems to be an effort to raise it to Olympian stupidity.

For more than a few years of hearing cases dealing with motor vehicle laws in Massachusetts, the issue of bogus drivers’ licenses and proper identification for other validations would come across my appeal board. Getting a fake “ID” has always been a form of mischief in parochial parts; working class streets and academic avenues, routes that the under-age have carried these cards to get a beer or at least admittance to a bar. Many came before this writer, their egos rinsed of the success they experienced just seconds before they were caught.
At best, the law and its sanctions stood. If they wanted to be known as 21 years of age (and they were not, as of the time of the hearing) then the license they could have enjoyed from the age of sixteen and a half years would just have to wait until the 21st year they claimed.
Of course, one could not help but try to convey a little regard for the law. Sure, “It’s the law! That’s it” would suffice. I would forego that. I would cite the mischief that I recognized. I would try to equate it to their credit cards and the age of rampant identity theft. One day, as I noticed one of America’s future water-walkers, supported by the perfect couple parents, exhibiting all the signs of boredom; counting ceiling dots, inventorying fingers, I suggested that this appellant might have friends who had jobs in restaurants, inns or pubs. The reaction that I hoped for suddenly happened. I suggested that it might be wise to consider what a bogus ID carrier, after being served, could cost his friend, the employer of his friend and a number of other people as well. And appealing to responsibility, awakening it, for friends, colleagues and fellow travelers could be a solution for fellow citizens and our government as well.

Each time a concession is granted the order to which the citizenry is entitled becomes compromised. Each state contending the REAL ID shows contempt for its citizens.
Just stepping back to the experience I cited above were offenses committed by the state itself.
In the 80’s the Dukakis Administration issued bogus social security numbers for a couple of groups of immigrants to facilitate their obtaining pay-outs. Were they for the purpose of employment there existed a mechanism. But that wasn’t the case. This was pure state-sponsored welfare fraud.
Underneath this was the fiscal and political advantage that the Governor gained at the time - more employment slots for case workers were sponsored (think payrolls, state employee union endorsements, [try to lay off a state employee]). This became a major debacle after a while when some of the recipients of largesse faced scrutiny in legal affairs; insurance and commercial licenses. The state was complicit in material misrepresentation. Not only was Massachusetts culpable for this as there were similar practices in other states as well. Florida, North Carolina and Texas to name but a few were more egregious in their failure of due diligence in issuing false identity papers. Some even had networks of blind-eyed officials who, together with a cadre of bottom-feeders were issuing licenses for exorbitant fees. (By the way, I don’t consider those that paid them were victims.)

Now, let's consider something else. Who do you want to be, and why do you want to be someone else? How about when you want your one vote counted. Massachusetts has a motor-voter registration system. But the very people who ramped up that idea seem to think it's an indignity to have to show the very ID issued by that process when one votes.

So, we have in place now means by which we can be responsible and accountable. Simple, isn't it.

Yet we find free-way wide gaps through which terrorists and other crimnnal elements can pass toll-free.

Above, I cited a person with multiple identities with a Massachusetts driver's license in two of them and a violation of NY parole in another. A passport application based upon one of these certificates is lost in the US State Department legal ether, as well. (Well, aren't you glad he's not driving a school bus - or is he.)

Aren't you glad he's not Adnan El Shukrijumah who is on a BOLO (Be on the lookout for) as a person of interest for 9/11. Adnan had a couple of driver's licenses also. He entered the US on fraudulent documents. Cited in South America, Colorado and Toronto there seems to be some problem with identifying him accurately - (Huh?) - and no warrant has been sworn.

I bet you're glad he isn't driving a school bus, let alone on a surrender warrant in New York or dealing drugs in Lynn, Massachusetts, Edina Minnesota or Sunnyside Street, Wherever.

Accordingly, thanks to motor-voter-registration (as in Massachusetts) should he show up, he could even exercise his right to vote (more than once) as the thug I first cited may.

The House That Mitt Built

As the song goes, "Money can't by you love!".
I wondered down to my voting place, all the familiar Boston Ward 4, Precinct 5, personalities huddled about, the walls were plastered with voting intructions in all sorts of hieroglyphics, Cyrilic, Chinese, Arabic and, even in English, offers for help with the instructions. Not an unknown to this crowd, I requested my Repuublican ballot - as a Republican my legal limit is one. I cast my die, and walking out someone asked why I had a McCain sticker on the back of my rain slicker. Of course it was the question I baited. If anyone was concerned that I was polliticking, I only stated, "It covers the stab wound Mitt inflicted."
51% of the Republican vote for the state Mitt governed doesn't say much. Then again, we Republicans have only ourelves to blame. We gave him more than he was worth in the first place. Yesterday many, though not enough, launched what a fomer State Committee colleague called, ABMs, Anyone But Mitt votes.

Harry Truman is famous for the saying, "If you can't take the heat of the kitchen, get out". Of course if you're sick to your stomach (with phonies, posturers and people doing ego trips your frequent campaigner miles) then the environment is just as uncomfortable.
I was taken back to 16 years before when I was a ward chairman with all 35 seats filled, and I was in a campaign for the Second Suffolk Senate District seat on the Massachusetts Republican State Committee (elected for four years in each presidential primary) . I had two good opponents. With 47% of the votes cast I won. After twelve years and the emergence of Mitt Romney, it was time to settle-up and move on. My position was taken by a young Bain and Co. water-walker, who I realized, only too late, didn't even know the district (having seen the GOP sold at auction to a corporate raider alienated any viable contestants, I guess).
Primary Day was interesting; the ward committee listed only four people and no candidate to represent the district on the state committee.
But that was just the party. Thanks to his stewardship of the GOP, the legislature could convene without the Republicans and still have a quorum. Anyone know of a judge appointed that wasn't sponsored by a Democrat? I can't think of one.
My own position in the administration was taken by a person who had just been fired for abuse of authority only 9 months into Mitt's term. A cadre of deputy commissioners and registrars were running about with blue lights and phoney police credentials. Another would-be Mitt appointee in affairs regarding liquor control was found to be owing to the geriatric thugs of Boston's Cosa Nostra.
I guess it was an example of Mitt reaching across the aisles. I didn't know Mitt stayed up til the early AM hours when the legislature did its business. But, he could if he wanted to. With Ted Kennedy's help he got an easement to allow the minaret (oops steeple) of his church in comfy old Belmont to be extended. And due to Mitt's concern for everyone's health-care, Massachusetts created a plan that only Mike Dukakis is jealous (Anyone recall Mike's challenge, "We'll have this plan. I don't know how we'll pay for it, but we'll have it.") Well, Masschusetts now has one. It can't pay for it. It's three times the cost than originally offered (of course open to all without proof of residency - let alone legal status). (Oh, Yes. There are legal sanctions for anyone who fails to enroll in it. Look up fascism.) And to whom are we to thank for this? Mitt Romney, course. And guess who Mitt praises for inspiration in this white elephant. Ted Kennedy.
Mitt's tradition is that of any other self-made man (in love with his creator). So during the Vietnam War he was a missionary (in France) . Yet, he finds that his sons serve their country by helping him get elected president. He finds reasonable competition in the electoral field to be an affront by those who oppose him. I don't find that very conservative.

First Glance 2008

Been a while since I’ve been up to lending the world my opinion. First it was my PC that went down. Then Christmas and the Holiday Season. The muse was off for the winter break and now seems settled in the routine of unscrambling my thoughts, moods and dispositions and then re-scrambling them enough so that familiar souls will recognize me.
Of course the country is going through its periodic mood-swings with the relish of trapeze artists as we watch certain people walking on water (very shallow puddles) to tell us they’re the most this or the least that. Anyone who ever got a city or state paycheck and held up a lollypop-sign will decipher polls for you and tell war stories. Parroting calumnies from the friend of someone who was a deputy assistant to someone else will bring us up on the skinny.
Personally, I’m holding out for the statesman (hinting). It’s been a while.
Apart from the would-be`s on their way to becoming might have beens, a good number of other people have been traveling. Brittney’s off in Mexico. The President got to and back from the Middle East. (I wonder if he compared his National Intelligence Estimate with the one the Mossad has.) James Rubin (Mr. Christiane Amanpour), Clinton’s State Department ‘phlaque’ and Kerry’s foreign affairs spokesman (and you thought it was the maitre`d at Maxim’s) was off to see his in-laws in Iran (I bet he gets to come back.).
But with all that buzzing in and out, nothing much seems to have changed.
The Dutch have awoken to a stronger syrupy coffee. “Netherlands: Muslim city councillor to non-Muslim constituent: "Shut up," "Drop dead," "Convert to Islam" http://jihadwatch.org/dhimmiwatch/. “
And locally, we can abide in ‘da Nile’ as long as it flows uninterrupted. The Pentagon enduring the throws of philosophical constipation (aka PC) can just dispatch a home grown, true to life intelligence officer who had one of the most suitable backgrounds for the current fight against Islamic terrorism. Major Steve Coughlin, USAR, a combat veteran as well as an academic was advised his contract was not being renewed in favor of a “Mr. Islam” (right, that’s his name). http://frontpagemagazine.com/Articles/Read.aspx?GUID=AD4EEA00-C944-4B04-88F4-C8AAA5BA03C4 Even an old friend of mine was perplexed in an interview on Fox. http://www.investigativeproject.org/article/584 .
But, says ‘Americana’, “Wot, us worry?”.
Then there’s the story of a former member of congressman being indicted. I’ll comment little as the Department of Justice release will suffice for now. http://www.usdoj.gov/opa/pr/2008/January/08_nsd_029.html
But here’s a guy who surely needed watching for more than a few years. “Congressman Siljander is affiliated academically with the Edinburgh Centre for Muslim-Christian Studies." Who knew?
And in 2005, guess who’s speaking at the above site?
“Dr. Mark Siljander will present two lectures this week, in a series entitled “The place of Muslim-Christian dynamic in international negotiations”.”
In 1999 he was introduced; “Ambassador Siljander is a student of several languages, including Arabic, Aramaic, Hebrew, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese, and has spent over ten years studying the Scriptures of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
These experiences have led him to develop what he describes as “a unique paradigm for the peaceful resolution of conflict that has been successfully applied in several challenging areas of the globe”.”

Add this guy to Adam “Yahiye” Gadahn aka “revolting geek of mass proportions“, Congressman Keith Ellison, The Pentagon’s Human Resources Department, Columbus, Ohio’s School Board, Mr. Amanpour, and don’t forget, the Gilbert & Sullivan Regimental Chorus of the Pakistan Army and The CAIR Choir; all singing “Angels we have heard on high” and you’ll be reminded of Christmas just past and the ever abiding theme;
“Peace on Earth, Good (Luck).”
