Jimmy does a Billy

What will he do next, start selling a brew called "Jimmy Juice"?

NEW YORK CITY — Former President Jimmy Carter is reportedly preparing an unprecedented meeting with the leader of Hamas, an organization that the U.S. government considers one of the leading terrorist threats in the world.

I recall when my brother treated me to a junket to England put on by my gang of former "spooks", and he said in reply to my dearest thanks, "I live vicariously through my little brother".

Well, here's a twist. Jimmy Carter follows in the staggering footsteps of his little brother, Billy. Some may recall the much touted visit that the "First Sibling" made to Muammar Qadafi. That Qadafi had already stung us more than a few times didn't mean anything to 'Americana'. We were only part way into our dumbing down and unaware of how dysfunctional the 'Cardigan Sweater' White House could become.

So, now some thirty years later, we see the greatest executor of retreat since Jubilation T. Cornpone making a pilgrimage to another real time enemy.

OK, Jimmy. Go, you kid.

Now I don't know to what level the former president employs the privilege of The Secret Service, but, if they'restill part of his usual retinue, I don't believe they should be obliged to accompany him on this carpet ride.

Simple. That's it.

Wonder if he'll be touring any bomb making factories and handing out sanctimonious crap along with the peanuts.

Appropriate enough, Tommy.
I keeping with the idea and suggesting that security doesn't cost just peanuts,I found the following:

"JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel's secret service declined to assist U.S. agents guarding former U.S. President Jimmy Carter during a visit in which Israeli leaders shunned him over his plans to meet Hamas, U.S. sources said on Monday."

Along the lines of what me said, I can't tell you how sorry I feel for Carter's assigned Secret Service.

I guess the outrage just hasn't registered.
"Jerusalem (CNSNews.com) - Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter laid a wreath of red roses at the grave of Palestinian Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat during a visit to the West Bank City of Ramallah on Tuesday."
"Dubbed the "godfather of terrorism," Arafat was linked to the deaths of two American diplomats in the Sudan in 1973 -- one of many terror acts laid at his feet."
To which I can add little more.

It is unfortunate to have a former President making his own Foreign Policy, without regard of that of the United States. If anyone decides to meet with Hamas in Syria, it should be the President and the State Department, and under very specific conditions. Jimmy Carter was always an evangelical preacher, even when President! Once again, he’s stepped over the line and made a difficult situation worse. There are those who brand him an anti-Semite, but I do not believe it. Carter has a single-mindedness about his causes, which cause him to make the wrong choices. Meeting with Hamas was one! However, the U.S. and Israel are going to have to deal with Hamas at some point in time. They were duly elected and they “govern” Gaza. The first problem is to figure out how to deal with Hamas and Fatah, both representing factions of the people of Palestine. The Palestinians placed themselves in this position, with some help from their Islamic friends in the neighborhood. If you think that getting out of Iraq is a problem, what about the situation of Palestine! reallypissedoff.com
